the one where I miss Rush

I never thought I'd say this, but I miss Rush. This weekend is Fall Parties at Baylor and last year at this time, I thought I was going to lose my mind. I couldn't wait for it to end. And now I yearn for that craziness, for a weekend with my sorority sisters and for that feeling of pride that came afterwards in knowing that I had done a good job. Rush was a huge part of my life for two years and it's hard to let go of my baby. I hope I left a good legacy behind. I guess Rush Chair will always be in my blood. Hopefully someday I can live somewhere with a Zeta chapter and a strong alumnae group so that I can help out with rush. But right now, I miss my sisters and the good times we had together even when it seemed like the task was too hard. My heart is with my girls this weekend...go get those baby zetas!!

After this class, I'm heading out to DC with Latte and Kristina. We're going to a Wizards NBA game tonight and then shopping in Georgetown and Tyson's Corner (the largest outdoor mall in America) tomorrow. I'm very excited for a break from law school. Next week is going to be rough as exams get closer, so it will be nice to escape this weekend.

Law School Story of the Week:
Yesterday I negotiated my first settlement for my client, Sandy Matthews! I felt very lawyerly in my black skirt suit with my fancy leather folder. My partner and I got a very good deal that was lower than what our client was willing to spend. And I have to brag a bit, I was the one making the deals and sticking to our price and suggesting the final deal. It was actually fun, too. It was kind of exhilerating...like a card game...you have to know when to play certain facts and when to hold back your Ace. I guess being a middle child helped me a little bit because I have a natural ability to strike a compromise. Maybe I can be a lawyer afterall...

Cheers: to a weekend in the city, to a law school victory and to my sisters
Jeers: to looming exams
