the one with the sunburn

This weekend was super fun. On Friday, I drove down to Austin for my best friend's bachelorette party. I can't believe she is getting married in a week! We went to eat dinner at Hula Hut on Lake Austin. It has a fun atmosphere and great queso and margaritas. After dinner, we decided that we needed snacks for the rest of the night. We parked illegally (in the bride's car) on the main drag in Austin. We dashed into CVS to grab the essentials: cokes, popcorn and chocolate. I came out first and saw a cop parked behind Julie's car!! She ran to the car, hopped in and drove down the street, we all piled in a drove off, hoping that the cop wouldn't follow us!

We stayed at the Omni downtown in a suite. It was a little sneaky because there were 11 of us and I had to sign a "no party policy" saying that I wouldn't have unregistered guests after midnight...oops. Anyway, Julie opened her lingerie and we watched some girly movies and had fun hanging out.

Saturday morning, we drove to New Braunfels to float the Guadalupe. It was so fun!! The water was freezing cold at first, but once you had baked in the sun a little while, it felt great. We were on the river for about 4.5 hours, which was perfect. It had a good combo of rapids and slow parts. We even had a little incident: the tube with our cooler got stuck and I had to go retrieve it (my foot got cut and bruised on the rocks) and then I straddled the cooler and tried to ride it down the rapids back to my tube!! Pretty crazy. I think everyone had a good time hanging out before Julie's big day!! I drove back to Dallas and didn't get in until about 10. I missed a wedding in Waco (sorry Em!!!!!) because the river took longer than I thought it would, but I'm glad that Julie had a good time ( :

Today, I've been so lazy and it has been wonderful. I'm off to dinner at Tin Star and coffee at Starbucks! I have to see how Harry Potter is doing since I didn't get to read this weekend...

Cheers: to my best friend and all the fun times we always have
Jeers: to sunburned shins
