the one with Lucy, may she rest in peace

My beloved car Lucy is no longer mine. We had eight good years together. She took me to high school and she was with me at Baylor. She even made it to law school. But the brakes and the AC and the mysterious rattle in the trunk and the problem with the locks just got to be too much. She was ready for a new home.

We had some good memories together. One of my favorites was the time she backed into the mailbox at Julie's house. Or the light pole in the empty church parking lot. Or the time she broke down on the way home from the airport. Or the time she got egged in the Collins parking lot at Baylor. Or the time she got stuck on the beach in Corpus. Ahhh the memories.

My new car doesn't have a name or a picture yet. But she's light blue and still has that new car smell (and has a gecko living inside...we saw the gecko run under the seat and now can't find the stupid thing).

um, HELLO!!!! let's not forget the time we were within miles of your house and she ran out of gas!!! that's a good Lucy memory!! so, I know you're hesitant to take pics, but I'd love to see it...and I still need to look at plane tickets, but I'm still thinking about that date in mid Sept. I'll let you know as that develops.
