the one where I'm in Williamsburg...

After 20+ hours of driving (in my beautiful new car), my friend Jacqueline and I made it to Williamsburg! The drive was relatively uneventful - unless you count the freak monsoon we drove through or the Quality Inn that was not exactly quality. We listened to Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix on the way so that we would be ready for the arrival of book seven on Friday night! Latte did pretty well in the car and thought she was in heaven when Jacqueline let her have a little bit of her vanilla icecream.

Once we got to Williamsburg, we headed straight to tour Jamestown with Brian. This is us in a Powhaten Indian hut.

After Jamestown and some good seafood, we headed to Harry Potter night! We didn't get our books till about 1 a.m. because we had to wait for the 600 people who had pre-ordered books to go first. We were numbers 143 and 144 of the people who didn't pre-order. Totally worth it. I can't believe this is the last installment!

The next day we headed up to DC to act like tourists and shop at Georgetown. We even saw a portrait of J.K. Rowling on loan from the British Portrait Gallery! Sunday we went to Virginia Beach, played a riveting game of Phase 10, followed by some Mario Party and some yummy pie. On Monday I took Jacqueline to all the Colonial sites and shops before she had to leave.

It was a fun weekend and I'm so glad she drove back with me and got to stay for a few days! Since she left I've been trying to clean and organize my apartment before the semester starts in a few weeks. I've also been working out (yay me!!) and reading Harry Potter (so so good).

Next Up: Road trip to Connecticut and Rhode Island! We're going to Mystic Pizza!!
