the one with a GREAT day and summer plans

Today is a fabulous friday. It's PERFECT weather: sunny, clear and 70. I spent the morning at Petsmart with my puppy and then we sat outside at Starbucks. She flirted with everyone that walked by and I studied criminal law. I've decided to make this weekend uber productive. Exams are in 24 days, which is quite scary, but this time I'm going to be ready!

After lots and lots of sleep yesterday, I think I'm finally over being sick. I took a 2 hour nap after lunch, then had a fun birthday dinner at Chilis, and then fell asleep on the couch doing some reading. It was so hard to get up at move to my bed! But today I feel very well, only a slight little cough remains. The last week has been super busy with writing a complaint for my client and trying to catch up on reading (I got behind while I was sick). I don't think the next three weeks will be any less stressful, wish me luck staying uber productive.

Also this morning I firmed up my summer plans:
Exams end on May 4 and I head down to Hilton Head for a week in the sun! So what if I'll also be working on my application to be on law review? Then on May 15, I start working at a law firm in downtown Dallas. I'm really excited because I get to rotate through a few different practice areas, including one that I'm especially interested in (wealth preservation, aka trusts, estates, wills, etc.). On June 26, I start working at a different law firm that specializes in labor and employment law. It's a much smaller office, which will give me a totally different perspective from the first firm. Once I finish up working, I head to Berlin for two weeks with my cousin for a law school study abroad. We get to tour around Berlin (and maybe take a train ride to some other fun cities) and take a class on International Mediation. I get back from Berlin just in time to pack up my stuff and drive back to Virginia!! It's going to be a whirlwind, but hopefully a fun one. Also, I got all the classes I wanted for next semester, so I'm looking forward to next year.

How's that for a life update? Its busy, but pretty good. No news on wedding plans. I'm hoping to squeeze that into my summer. Don't worry, I'll keep you updated.

Cheers: to SPRING and gorgeous weather
Jeers: to my Papa going to the hospital. He's having trouble breathing and we don't know yet how serious it is. Keep him in your prayers.
