the with a good word

I know I just posted last night, so all you obsessive-blog-checkers should be thrilled. As I was cleaning out my Baylor email accout (I have to have it cleared by Wed or I lose all my old emails!), I found one from Kyle Dunn about Spring Break and it seemed fitting for this season too.

The good news is that God isn’t finished working in us and through us.

He has arranged for you to have break; a time for rest and re-creation.
He knows that you have pushed your mind and body to the limit.
He knows that deadlines and pressures and stress have pushed-back on you.
He knows that the steady pace of busyness needs an interruption…of stillness.

Find time to be still over this break.
And I’m not necessarily talking about a long devotional moment.
Let your mind and body rest.

Sleep a lot…and thank God for the opportunity.
Have unhurried conversations…you remember those, don’t you?
Read something that has nothing to do with your degree plan.
Get outside and enjoy Creation…and give God the credit for its beauty and complexity.
Sit alone somewhere and leisurely stroll through a magazine.
Then sleep some more
