the one with my Baylor bears

I had a fabulous weekend in Texas! Here's the recap:

thursday: I dropped Latte off at my friend's apartment (it was hard to leave her behind) and headed to the airport. Brian picked me up and we went to watch my sister perform as the Plano West mascot. She a crazy looking wolf. Then we ate dinner at Uncle Julio's where they have my favorite fajitas!! After dinner, I helped Meredith make a garter for her homecoming date and then I hung out with Michael, Leslie and Brian at Whataburger till midnight. I slept over at Leslie's house and it reminded me of our fun roommate times.

friday: Leslie's mom mad us breakfast and then dropped me off with Brian. We had awesome burgers and onion rings at Burger House for lunch. For all you Waco peeps, it is the SMU version of Health Camp. After that, we shopped for a while at Northpark Mall and I got some fun stuff from Express. We headed down to Waco to meet Kasey, Emily and Riley for a grand tour of Kristy and Lee's house. They've done a really great job at fixing it up and it looks very grown-up. Kristy, you're going to have to help me decorate someday. We checked out the new bookstore (I got a Baylor hoodie) and the new Bear Pit. Both look awesome. I'm glad my tuition money went to a good cause ( : We met ALL our friends at Rudy's for some bar-b-q. My meat wasnt' that great, but the beer and the potato salad made up for it.

Bonfire: It was so strange having the bonfire at the Ferrell Center instead of on the main campus. It just didn't feel the same. But it was still fun to run into random people and to watch Jen LeForce get engaged!! After the bonfire, Brian and I watched the ATO Pigskin act. We also sat on "our" bench from freshman year. So many things have changed since we used to sit there, but so may things are still the same. I love that we have a spot on campus that will always be ours. After all that, we went to a 24-hour breakfast buffet (gross) and then to Hemingways, a cool little coffee-shop style bar. I stayed up way too late, but it was worth every minute of lost sleep.

saturday: the parade and zeta alum breakfast came WAY too early. I pushed myself out of bed (after Sara called 3 times) and got ready so fast that I forgot my jacket. I love watching the parade and seeing all the kids in their Baylor outfits. So fun. And it was nice to relax this year and not worry about Zeta's float. The football game started at 11:30 and we just won't talk about how it went. It was fun for the first half and then I started to get sunburned and the refs started to get stupid, so we left early....for a lunch/dinner at Texas Roadhouse!!!! There are no words to describe those rolls and chicken fried steak. I went to Spice with Sara and found some fun stuff that I definitely didn't need: a zeta mug (so what if I'm an alum), an "e" magnet and some earrings. I also found Julie's bday present! I love that store. It's just so fun. Saturday night, we all met up at Crickets and that was lots of fun too. It's funny how when boys get intoxicated they pound the table with their fists and use "boy" language a lot more frequently. I also saw a bunch of Zetas from my pledge class. It's so wierd hearing about everyone's grown-up life. I wonder how long it takes to get used to that.

sunday: slept in a bit and then got some authentic tacquitos from a hole in the wall mexican place. then we headed back to the Big D. Brian let me go shopping at Anthropologie and I bought my two new favorite shirts. They're awesome. We also got some Starbucks and then went to Chipotle for dinner. I was a little bummed because I didn't get to go say goodbye to my family and they took it very badly, but there just wasn't enough time to drive north to plano and then out to the airport. oh well. I'm praying that things in that area will smooth over soon because I don't like being mad at people or having them mad at me, no matter how good the reason is. So Brian took me to the airport and we had a little goodbye...I hate those goodbyes. my flight went well and I picked up my little Latte. She smothered me in kisses when she saw me, which means she missed me a lot ( :

now I'm back in Williamsburg and the race to exams is on. the pressure is starting to be tangible.

Cheers: to good friends
Jeers: to goodbyes
