the one where I hate airport security

I decided that I hate airport security. On the way to AND from Dallas this weekend, I got chosen for extra screening (that's the consequence of booking your ticket less than 24 hours before the flight). It's just humiliating. They pull you aside - which is still in full view of everyone else in line - and they go through all your stuff and then make you stand spread eagle while they scan you with the beeping wand thing and then pat you down. Everyone in line thinks you're a criminal or that you did something wrong or have something wierd in your bag. On the way there, it was complicated because I had Latte with me. The security lady had a hard time figuring out how to screen my dog. And on the way back, the 25-year-old security guard pulled EVERYTHING out of my carry-on suitcase. I had to stand and watch him riffle through my underwear and make-up bag and my purse. And besides being humilating, it's annoying because you spend so much time packing. It's hard to get everything to fit perfectly so that your suitcase will close and so the bottom of your shoes don't touch your underwear and so that things won't wrinkle. Then security messes it all up!! Grrr.

Sorry for my little soapbox, on to happy things: I had a GREAT weekend at home. I went to a bachelorette party and wedding for an old friend. It's always fun to see old friends and reminisce. I also got to see HARRY POTTER!!! Fabulous. I loved it. And it was a quadruple date: me and bj, my sis and her bf, brian's bro and his gf, and mike and les. Very fun (especially because I wore my Harry Potter glasses to the showing and embarassed my sister in line!!).

Today it's been raining ALL day. Seriously. But I made it better by having lots of coffee and some yummy soup. And tomorrow morning I'm heading back to Dallas for Thanksgiving! Can't wait for that turkey and some post-holiday sales and fun times with friends and family!

Jeers: not doing laundry and having to pack dirty things to wash at home
Cheers: to getting called on in class and knowing the answer and not getting flustered!!

PS- I wish I could change the colors of my fonts, but blogger doesn't let you do that on a Mac ) :
