the one with a fabulous weekend

I had a GREAT weekend. Here's the re-cap:

Friday: It was a little rough. I tried to catch the earlier flight but it was pouring rain and the airport was PACKED. I got to the counter to get on the stand-by list and the guy just started laughing. I was really upset about not getting on the early flight, but what can you do? I had 4 hours to kill, so Latte and I drove around Richmond for a while till I got hungry. We stopped at McDonalds (fries make me feel better). We were in the McDonalds parking lot for about 2 hours: eating, napping, reading, watching the rain, reading for my classes. Anyway, after what seemed like a million years, it was time for the flight. Latte made it through security and she did pretty well on the flight. She found a way to stick her head out of her bag so I spent most of the flight leaning forward and holding the bag shut so she wouldn't jump out. I also read my fun book: The Undomestic Goddess by the author of the Shopaholic Books. It's about a lawyer who goes off the deepend. I can definitely relate. I FINALLY got to Dallas and was upset bc I was not looking too hot anymore. 2 hours at an airport, 2 hours at McDonalds, 2 times of trying to get Latte to pee in the rain, plus a 3 hour flight equals frizzy hair and yucky makeup. But it didn't matter because Brian was there to pick me up!!! It was so fabulous to see him waiting for me holding flowers and to get a hug from him. I just couldn't let go and I started crying because I was so happy. We laughed because he looked taller to me and he said I looked shorter. Latte was so happy to be off the plane and out of her bag...she wouldn't stop licking us. We stopped at Chipotle (yum) for dinner and then went to my house to see my family. We also watched the first half of Count of Monte Cristo (BJ's fav) until I was falling asleep.

Saturday: I slept in a bit and then went to get bagels with my mom and sister. We spent the next few hours shoe shopping and I got some fun slipper type shoes. We also went shopping for Meredith's homecoming dress and she found a really pretty one. After that, we met up with Brian and his parents at La Madeleine for lunch (yummy potato soup and chicken salad sandwich). BJ and I did a little shopping after lunch before meeting Mike and Leslie at Cheesecake Factory (yummy yummy chicken and mashed potatoes). We went to see "In Her Shoes" with his parents. It was a really good movie - funny, sweet, left you feeling happy.

Sunday: I went to church with my parents and it was AMAZING. The choir just blew me away. It was a slight culture shock to be in a church of several thousand when the last one I visited had about 75 people in it. I couldn't help getting chocked up. After church, we all went to eat at Mac Grill (yummy pasta and salad and bread). Then BJ, Mer and I stopped by Lacey's for a friends episode and a chat. For dinner, we went to Margarita Ranch for the BEST beef fajitas in the world. So yummy. Just writing about it now is making my mouth water. I also had a big strawberry margarita and was definitely buzzing when we left (I almost backed into a car!! I didn't see it at all...ooops). Brian and I finished our movie and then relaxed in the hot tub. The cool weather made it a perfect night for hot tubbing.

To be continued with Monday and Tuesday's activities...

Cheers: to mexican food, family, friends, fun times
