We're engaged!! Ha ha. Yeah right. He did catch the garter though. Funnily enough, it's not an instant fix ( : Anyway, welcome to coverage on: The Summer of Weddings - Round 6: Matt and Nena.
Friday: Rehearsal dinner @ Blue Mesa. The food was very good and I wore a cute new shirt (it has a really low back and I felt grown up). Brian gave his best man's speech. He fumbled a little and was nervous, but you could tell he meant what he was saying and that he cared about Matt (in a non-gay way) a lot. It was fun to see the two of them joking with each other. It's also fun to meet other people at weddings, because you know they are there to support the same people you are and it's cool to learn more about the people who are getting married. I'm excited for Matt and Nena, they seem very much in love and it gives me some hope. They started dating about when Brian and I did. So if they can do it, so can we ( : And I know this is superficial, but her ring is gorgeous. Two whole karats with little ones in the band. Sparkly and beautiful.
Saturday: Wedding ceremony @ Prestonwood and reception @ Dallas Art Museum. Beautiful ceremony and awesome reception. The food was sooooo good. Yummy frozen drinks, a cool looking salad, a delicious steak and wedding cake. Yum. We sat with another of Brian's friends from high school and his wife. It was fun to talk to them and the other groomsmen (who had HUGE southern accents). Brian and I danced and spent a little bit of time on this cool balcony overlooking downtown. The whole thing went by too quickly. It seemed like we had just gotten there and then it was time to throw the bouquet and wish them well. Nena aimed the bouquet at me but this tall girl caught it over my head. I should have just decked her and taken it.
Idon't think I did a very good job of telling you how fun this wedding was. You just had to be there I guess. I just love weddings. They are so romantic. I love seeing people start their lives together.
Cheers: to vows and veils
Jeers: to waiting
