Every year the christmas card picture is drama in my house. Inevitably, my mom picks a time to take the picture when someone has to be somewhere or someone doesn't have the right clothes or someone has not had time to straighten her hair. This year, instead of taking the picture when all 5 of us were in Chicago, my mom waited until the Sunday after Thanksgiving, when my sister and I had flights to catch, to take the picture. So we planned to take the picture after church (i.e. 12:45). Around 1:15, with only 15 minutes until my sister has to leave for the airport, we start to wonder where my dumb brother is. He decided that "come over right after church" really meant "go home, eat lunch, watch some tv, and then take your sweet time coming over." He finally showed up, we get all posed, snap one picture, and then the camera battery dies. So then the search is on for the charger and an extension cord. Then the memory card is full. So we have to get another camera. Then the dogs are in the way. Etc. Etc. By the time we finally take enough pictures to have one where we all look good, Meredith is running 15 minutes late for her flight. My dad starts yelling that Meredith will miss her flight, Meredith starts panicking, my mom tries to rush her to the car, Meredith starts crying and yelling at Scott for being late, my mom yells at Scott for making Meredith cry, Scott yells at us for not having the camera properly charged....drama all the way around.
Don't be fooled by happy smiles on the Christmas card pictures you get.
Cheers: to decorating for Christmas tonight!
Jeers: to not knowing what on earth my professor is talking about because I'm so behind!
