Funny Story #1: Brian, Michael and I were driving into the mountains from Denver around dusk on Friday. Brian has been looking out the window the whole way up and suddenly says: There's a deer!! No its a REINDEER!!!!! Of course, it was not actually a reindeer, just a regular one. But then Brian proceeds to tell us all about reindeer and how they have fuzzy antlers. Michael and I are cracking up at the absurd possibility that there could be a reindeer on the side of the mountain. Two days later, after a lot of teasing Brian about his reindeer comment and after taking our engagement pictures in Vail Village (I don't have the pictures back yet, so be patient little bloggers), Michael, Leslie and I are walking around waiting for Brian to come back from getting something from the car. A little cart comes into view - the kind you can ride in - and it is pulled by an actual REINDEER. No joke. You can take a ride in this reindeer drawn cart. We crack up and call Brian to tell him to run back because we have a surprise for him. He does and as soon as he sees the reindeer we all just die laughing. And yes, they actually do have fuzzy antlers. How on earth he knew that is beyond me.
Funny Story #2: On Monday, my flight out of Denver was scheduled to leave at 12. In the line for security we ran into the newlyweds, Jonathan and Jenny. They were on my flight to Dallas and then catching a plane to Mexico for their honeymoon. We hung out in the airport together waiting for our flight and it gets delayed because of Dallas weather. We finally leave 2 hours late. Then we keep getting redirected in the air. Then we have to stop to re-fuel in Odessa. Then we can't take off. Then we get redirected again. We finally landed around 9, only 6 hours later than scheduled. The newlyweds missed their connection to Mexico and no more flights were leaving that night. Both of their families were still in CO from the wedding, so they were stranded with no car and no luggage (because it was checked) and no hotel because the airport hotel was full. So I ended up taking them over to her parents house in Dallas and we all ate dinner together. I'm sure they didn't exactly plan to spend their first day as a married couple with me from breakfast through dinner!
