the one where Sara visited the Burg (and I didn't get a new Easter dress)

This is a little delayed, but Sara came to the Burg last weekend and we had a blast! Here are a few highlights:
After hanging out on Saturday night, we woke up to SNOW on Saturday!! It was so beautiful and still falling when we got up. I had a little incident involving falling and snow inside my pajama top. Nothing wakes you up like snow to skin contact. We got a yummy breakfast at a local coffee hotspot, then headed to Jamestown for a tour from Dr. Brian Fox, PhD.
I learned that the first Africans over here made cloth out of bark, that the word racoon is a Powhaten Indian word, that the first English people over here called themselves "adventurers" not settlers, and that tour guides who know a lot about history are really hott (good thing I get to marry one!). We saw a re-created versions of an Indian village, the Jamestown Fort and the ships that brought the English here. It also snowed again while we were touring. And we watched people make glass just like they did back then...so cool. After Jamestown, we visited Colonial Williamsburg...complete with a tour of the old church, time in the stocks, and a fief and drum militia! Sunday morning, we drove up to DC for a day of touring. We toured it up at the art gallery, the national archives, and some monuments. It was super cold, but lots of fun...especially eating icecream in 40 degree weather and realizing we're pretty dumb (do YOU know what the department of justice does??). Monday, we slept in, shopped at the famous peanut shop and took one more stroll through "downtown" williamsburg. It was a really fun weekend and I can't wait for my next visitors! You too can have a personal tour, if you book your trip before May 11, 2008 (which, by the way, is my graduation date!).

In other news, this is the first year in my whole life that I didn't get a new Easter dress. How weird and sad is that? I don't think I'm okay with it. I guess next year I get to buy TWO!!

School (aka my life) is super busy. I'm trying to learn all the things I need to know about being managing editor of a law journal while studying for finals and staying sane. Finals are in two weeks and I'm on the verge of a major freak out.

Brian is still good. He likes his job a lot and just became an official tour guide, so he'll be giving tours for kids on the side of what he's doing now. Also, I think he's found a closer/better place to live next year with some of my friends, so thats nice. And he might get to meet the queen. Can't beat that. He keeps me sane and reminds me to actually enjoy life instead of stressing my way through. We're still pro/conning wedding dates and I'll definitely let you know when we pick!

Thats all I got.

Pro: Ben & Jerry's Americone Dream icecream. I'm addicted. Best icecream ever.
Con: Apt is a mess
