the one with Brian's birthday

On Friday Brian turned 24. To celebrate, we drove over to Charlottesville for the day. It's about a two hour drive straight west from Williamsburg. We stopped in Richmond for lunch at Chipotle (Brian's fave). When we got to Charlottesville it was rainy and cold, but we walked around the UVA campus and some shops anyway. I remembered a really good cafe with yummy desserts from when I went on a college visit to UVA. We tried to go to it, but they closed a few months ago! It was really sad. After that we drove over to Monticello, which is where Thomas Jefferson lived. It's the building on the back of the nickel, fyi. It was cool to see his house and plantation. On the way back to the 'burg, we stopped again in Richmond for dinner at P.F. Changs!! I love that place. I didn't love the two hour wait, but at least we got to shop while we waited. And the food was totally worth it. Oh, and he loved his present. It's a nutcracker shaped like a squirrel!! So fun. We've been eating pecans for the last few days.

Yesterday I started reading for classes. Boo. And I'm supposed to be working on a paper too but I haven't been very good abotu that. Oh well, I have to ease my way back into the semester.

Cheers: to a Harry Potter marathon
Jeers: to losing the charger for my camera
