the one where Ernesto did not ruin my weekend

Brian came to visit me in Williamsburg last weekend. He was here for a full five days and we had a fabulous time. He got here on Tuesday and we ate at the PF Changs in Richmond. The waiter thought we were on a first date or something, which was kinda funny. On Wednesday, I had classes, but Brian met me and some of my friends for lunch. My class on Thursday was cancelled and I don't have Friday classes, so it was like a four day weekend. We had a pretty lazy day on thursday - shopping at the outlet malls and making dinner. The rain started Thursday afternoon and didn't stop until Saturday morning. Hurricaine Ernesto didn't hit Williamsburg head on, but we got a LOT of the rain and wind as it moved up from North Carolina. It was CRAZY. We lost power on Friday morning so Brian and I ate icecream for breakfast and played a lot of Scrabble. When it hadn't come back on by the afternoon, we decided to venture out to find something to do. We ended up playing pool at a place nearby. I won 3 times by default - Brian scratched on the 8 ball and then called the wrong pocket. But then I won once for real ( : We had dinner at Red Lobster and ordered this HUGE variety plate. If you know us at all, you know we aren't really fish people, but we had this strong craving for Red Lobster's cheesey biscuits and we decided to be adventurous. The lobster tail was amazing and we had so much fun trying to figure out how to eat the snow crab legs. I'm a natural with the little cracking tool. On Saturday, we went to see historic Jamestown...but the historic part was closed from hurricaine damage and the power was still out in other areas. All we got to see was the kiddie part - a recreated Indian village and recreated ships that brought the settlers here. We also saw "Little Miss Sunshine." I recommend it...it's one of those quirky movies that just makes you laugh.

Brian left on Sunday - but not before meeting my favorite Starbucks barista. When he left, it hit me that I am actually back at school. I know that sounds dumb, but when I left Texas a few weeks ago I knew I would see Brian soon so it didn't really hit me that we were back to the long distance thing. But it has officially sunk in. Yuck. The good thing is that we finally figured out what we're doing for Fall Break in October - going to Los Angeles to see Brian's friend Matt (who is a pilot and has promised to fly us over the Hollywood sign!) and we're going to the beach and DISNEYLAND!!!!!! Yippeee!!! And then a week after that, I'll be in Texas for BAYLOR HOMECOMING!!!! Sic 'Em!!!
