the one with a fantabulous weekend in Houston!

Last weekend, Brian and I went to Houston to see some of my favorite people. We left right after work on Friday and got to Houston around 9:30 (after a quick stop for a yoohoo!). We spent Friday night hanging out with the lovely Sara Banks and meeting some of her law school friends at a fun place in Rice Village.

Saturday morning, we met my Aunt, Uncle and cousins for lunch. My cousin Allison and her husband had a baby 6 months ago and this was my first time to meet her. Her name is Caroline and she is precious, a very happy, smiley baby.

After lunch, we hit some big sales at Rice Village and then spent a few hours at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. They had an exhibit on Roman Busts and lots of cool paintings. Sara and I had to practically drag Brian out of there. He could have looked at the Roman stuff for HOURS. For dinner, we went to a fun Mexican place called El Tiempo with STRONG margaritas and some good queso. And my good friends Tara and Kasey drove in from the 'burbs to eat with us!! So fun!

We went out again that night to meet some of Sara's guy friends from law school and had a lot of fun just hanging out. On Sunday, we met the amazing Kasey Joy and her friend for lunch and then watched the World Cup Finals at her apt. I got to hear about Aunt's Weekend first hand and see all her new fun furniture.

All in all, it was a great weekend. I'm really glad I got to see my baby cousin and I'm even happier I got to spend a few hours with two of my very best friends. I miss them so much and it was so fun to hang out and try to pretend like we don't live hours apart!! I would go back to Baylor in a heartbeat!!

Cheers: to seeing best friends
Jeers: to leaving them again for who knows how long

Lainey, it really was sooooo good to see you (and Brian)!!! It is hard to transition to a new stage! Can you believe we've been out for a year and a half? The longer we're out, the closer we become to real adults, yuck!! I too miss you terribly, and don't like to think about the fact that I'm not exactly sure when I'll see you next. Thanks for making the trip down, it means a lot to me! I'm glad we figured out the scheduling and all!! Thanks for the shout out and the pic, it's pretty cute of both of us! Talk to you soon!

I attempted to do the backing myself but it was almost imposiable. I took the quilt to a local fabric store (Ben Franklin's) and they did it for me. I would recomend looking up Joanne Fabric or the one I used and talking to them before you start. It cost me roughly $150 but I had a HUGE! quilt. They will usually sell the batting and backing material at the quilting store and depending on how busy it is it can take up to a month to get done once you take it in there. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Um, when did you change your title? I liked "Dream Venti"...but maybe "Quarter Life Crisis" is more appropriate. About knowing it was my 100th post. I counted them all...just kidding...When you sign in and are looking at your "Dashboard" on the first main line it reads: "Blog name" "new post" "change settings" "last update" "posts" The last one, "posts", has a number under it, that is the number of posts you have made. Well, how's that for a complicated answer to a simple question? BTW - I feel like we didn't do much life updating while you were here...we need to chat!
