I'm finally on spring break!!! I flew home yesterday afternoon and had absolutely no troubles or delays for the first time in the last 10 flights. I was very happy. Of course, we ate Mexican food last night (Bowling for Soup was right that the Mexican food sucks north of here). Today I got a pedicure with my mom and then hung out with Brian all afternoon. We spent at least an hour at barnes and noble because I couldn't decide which magazines to buy or which novel to read next. I ended up with the latest John Grisham and one called The TimeTravelers Wife that seems intriguing. Anyway, it was a good relaxing start to a much needed break. It seems like all I've done for the past 2 weeks is write my research paper, flip through nasty old casebooks in the library, or read for my classes. My level of busyness has led me to do things I never thought I would....like re-wear pairs of socks bc there is no time for laundry, or forget to shave my legs for weeks on end, or go to bed without brushing my teeth because I'm just too tired to take the time. All that to say that I'm definitely ready for a relaxing week of not thinking about law school (except for my two job interviews). Tomorrow, I'm going with my family minus Scott to Cancun. I'm not really sure what my parents were thinking or if they realize what spring break is like in Mexico. But I'm all for it....bring on the sun and the cerveza. When I get back, I have two job interviews for the summer. Pray that they go well because they are my only hope for not being stuck working at the gap or for legal aid (for free).
And finally, a belated shout-out to my friend Jenifer Rae. She turned the uneventful 23 last week and in my euphoria of celebrating my dog's first birthday, I forgot to wish her a happy one. She's been a fun friend for a long time...the kind of friend that I can blackmail with some awful pictures from middle school. The kind that makes me laugh thinking about our rollerblading trips past the hot boy's house or our late night snack craving for cocco puffs or how we traded boyfriends every other week in the youth group. Happy birthday Jen! Hope it was fabulous.
