the one where coffee failed me

Monday night I went to workout at my apt "gym". I like doing the elliptical machine and watching Entertainment Tonight. By the way, my new goal is to workout 5 times a week. I know it's a very lofty goal considering I think I've only worked out 5 times in the last month, but I'm going to try! Since I started law school, I mainly sit around. I sit to study or to type papers or to watch tv or to listen in class. And I don't walk like I did at Baylor because my apt is too far and we don't have a Bear Trail. All the inactivity is bad on my body and my attitude. Since I'm in law school and I have a small dog, I might as well go all out in my imitation of Elle Woods. Besides, working out gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy!

Anyway, back to Monday night. After my workout and my tv time, I made some coffee to help myself stay up and study. After drinking the coffee I felt MORE tired than before!! Coffee completely failed me in my hour of need. I could not keep my eyes open at all. I fell asleep on my torts book and finally gave up around 11:15. It wasn't even that late! I hope my new workout goal will improve my energy level too!!

As long as I'm doing this workout thing, I'm going to work on drinking more water and eating healthier. No more eating Doritos and M&Ms while I study. I'm going to eat more fruit (like my apples from the Farmer's Market) and more veggies (like spinach salad with dinner). I'm also eating a healthy breakfast. You should all try Kashi Go Lean Crunch. It's an organic cereal that's very tasty and has tons of protein and fiber and fills me up till lunch. By the way, this is not a diet. It's just a conscious effort to treat my body better.

I have another paper due on Monday and some practice exam questions to work on. The semester is halfway over and the profs are loading on the work! Time for me to buckle down a little more. So if you don't hear from me, it's because my eyes are bleary from reading or my fingers have fallen off from typing my paper. Or it's because my legs collapsed from the strain of my unreasonable workout goals.

Cheers: to New Year's goals in October
Jeers: to my study friend having pneumonia...I hope I didn't catch it!
