That's right. One girl in my classes told me today that I have movie star hair. I'm not really sure what you say to that. Maybe that would have been the moment to do a slow-motion, pantene commercial type, head shake where my hair would just look shiney and perfect. Like a move star. Either way, I'm adding that to my resume.
Yesterday, was a no good very bad day. I cried several times and threw a hissy fit. It started with a visit to a sad little church. It was in a beautiful building, but there wasn't much enthusiasm in the service and there were about 50 people there total. Not for me. I cried a little afterwards because I miss my Bible-Belt churches. It's just not the same here. After a Walmart trip and a bit of studying, I decided to make another attempt at the curtains. I'll spare you all the details but let's just say that there was screaming, stomping and hammer throwing. And no curtains. The curtains and my new drill are hidden at the top of the closet so that I won't be reminded of my failure as a curtain hanger. I've also decided to invest in a new sleep mask. It's so much cheaper than curtains and the assmbly is way easier.
After that incident, I needed to leave the apartment. I went to Starbucks. When I picked up my drink, it was so full that HOT coffee squished out the top and burned my fingers!! Seriously, there is a little blister there! I cleaned that up, picked my cup up again and it spilled again. I cleaned that up, dumped out some of the coffee so that it wasn't too full, picked it up and it spilled more!! I carried it slowly with two hands to my spot outside. When I put it down, the lid came off and it spilled all down my front (Kasey, it was like the Mexican pizza incident in middle school!!). I went home because when Starbucks turns against you, who knows what else could happen.
It got a little better after that. I hung things in my room and it looks a lot better (pics soon). I also did some laundry, ordered a laptop bag and booked my ticket home for Fall Break!! Now it's time for a yummy dinner: grilled chicken, cheesy potatoes and spinach salad. Then it's time to study study study!!!
Cheers: to friends calling to check on me
Jeers: to laundry

I am very proud of you for making it on your own in a brand new place with no one you knew (except for Latte of course). I know the curtain thing isn't going so well, and Starbucks even turned on you, but you've been finding stores, you called and checked up on your matresses, and I think that overall you are doing a good job of living on your own!! No one expects you to be perfect, and every one breaks down and cries, even people who aren't living by themselves!! You are surviving living alone and at the same time you are a law student at a prestigious university!!! I know this may not mean much, but I am proud of you and I am truly impressed by your accomplishments!! Just keep pushing!!! Yay Elaine!!
I agree about you having movie star hair!!! You are quite the looker!! I know you didn't mean it to be, but I was super sad when you said "Cheers: to friends calling to check up on me". I've totally dropped the ball! I should have called more often! We have to talk more, and I'm sorry I've been a slacker. Please know that I love you and think of you often! I really admire you for your new adventure in Virginia!! Let's talk soon, very soon!
You do have really nice hair! I'm glad somebody else has pointed that out to you! You are also clumsy, which I'm glad nobody pointed out to you because that would have just been mean!! (:
If velveeta and rotel can be mailed, then please and I will definitely pay you back!! I think the fact that I can't have it makes me want it more!! Silly that I'm craving queso this much, isn't it?!
Is Brian starting a blog?!
Thanks for the comment. Yes we are getting so so excited about the upcoming baby. If she will EVER get here already :) I love your blog...I just re-found it the other day and added it to mine. Take it easy and way to go with getting your law degree....sheesh...I just would not be able to handle that momentarily ;) I love your pics of your apt, and puppy...I have the same kind and they look very similar I think. We almost got a girl yesterday from some friends of ours that wanted to give her away, but she apparently is a terror, and we didn't want to deal with it.
Oh...yes, I do agree about your hair as well...b-e-a utiful! :)
BIG!! I had a day like that recently... they stink! What day are you coming back to Texas? I wanna see you!! :) MISS YOU TONS!
How do I get the thumbprint version?
