So, it's been awhile since you've gotten a good update. I'll do my best to remember what's been happening.
Sun: Prestonwood for the last time, shopping with BJ and Mike, party at my house
Mon: pack pack pack. get stuff done. quick Starbucks break. dinner at Houstons.
Tues: pack pack pack like a mad woman. load the u-haul. hang out with Lacey. eat mexican food for the last time. hang out with Brian.
Wed: load load load. lunch with Brian at Whataburger. say goodbye. drive across east Texas. get a flat tire in Arkansas. dinner in Arkadelphia. slept in Little Rock.
Thurs: drive forever. lunch in Memphis at a rib joint. crossed the Mississippi. saw Nashville. Scott knocked an exxon sign off the gas pump. made it to Virginia.
Fri: drive drive drive. made it to Williamsburg at 3. unloaded the u-haul in 2 hours. ate a huge dinner at a local pub. slept in MY apartment.
Sat: scott went home. unpacked a ton of stuff with my mom. bargain shopped for essentials and decorations. bought out walmart. stayed up late setting things up.
Sun: slept in! bought mattresses (I now have a QUEEN bed). bargain shopped for a microwave cart and a bench for my porch. ate pizza and watched tv. freaked out about going to law school tomorrow.
Just so you know, Latte is doing fabulous. She did wonderfully in the car. She didn't wimper or get upset and she loves her new place. She even made friends with some little girls that live across the way. My neighbors are very friendly and I love the apartment.
Also, there were five Texas Roadhouses on the way to Virginia (McKinney, Little Rock, Memphis, 2 in Knoxville).
I already miss texas and my friends and family there, but I really feel like this is a step I need to take. I need to see where it leads and try a new place out on my own. And Virginia is so much closer to my dreams of living in DC or New York or Boston. Or eventually in London. Don't worry though, I'll always be a Texas girl at heart and I refuse to stop saying y'all.
Cheers: to a safe drive
Jeers: to bug bites and peeling legs
